Today I talked with Orin about my grandfather. It reminded me of how much i loved him and how much he taught me. Back in his day he grew up with only a 9th-grade education, but he taught me how to depend on and rely on myself first. I still remember his no nonsense way of thinking. If someone beat you down you got back up and kicked their ass. If the world blocked you, you found new ways..
This doesn’t mean I can power through every heartbreak and never feel down or afraid, but it does mean I can choose to use his strength that he helped me learn to help me later.
